A NEW APPROACH TO SECURITY FIREARMS TRAINING

DALHOUSIE RANGES was developed in 1985 on a 300 acre property near Seymour. It is located in a bush setting near Seymour only 50 minutes drive on the Hume Highway. Alternatively one of the regular Vline services from Southern Cross Station to Seymour could be used.

Firearms courses including non lethal firearms training are conducted on our purpose built security firearms training ranges in a natural bush setting.

We offer two security firearms training programs as follows:

ANNUAL SECURITY FIREARMS REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM

All licensed Armed Guards and Cash-in-Transit guards must complete a training and assessment program each financial year by 30 June to maintain their firearms licence and to update their knowledge and skills.

Instruction programs are available for revolver, semi-automatic pistol and shotgun.

Risk assessment, laws related to use of force and decision making skills are integrated into our re-qualification program in addition to the theory and practical requirements of the licensing course.

The program is a minimum of 16 hours conducted over two days.

Annual firearms requalifications must be completed by the end of each financial year 30 June

NON LETHAL FIREARMS SCENARIOS

Experienced guards, who have completed regular re-qualification courses with us, may participate in a session of Non Lethal Use of Force training as part of their annual re-qualification program. They will use service revolvers, Simmunition equipment and FX marker cartridges to take part in role plays adapted from real life experiences in the field.
